We wish to express our most profound and sincere appreciation to all who have collaborated, sponsored or assisted in any way for the Guatemalan athletes to  compete in the Los Angeles Marathon.

Maraguá, a non-profit organization formed in order to support and aid underprivileged athletes from Guatemala to participate in international events, would like to offer you an opportunity to participate in our annual event that takes place each year in conjunction with the Los Angeles City Marathon. Next year (2003) will be the 17th consecutive. The location of the event Will be Olympic Blvd. and Georgia Street next to the Staples Center. It will run from 08:00 A.M. until 05:00 P.M.

Each year with the running of the said marathon, we organize runners to come from Guatemala and we hold a Country Fair type event on the route of the competition. It is an officially sanctioned event with a great deal of publicity. Last year, according to estimates, we had approximately 20,000 spectators at our event. The TV coverage usually does 3 live segments from our location. In the event of rain, we have the entire area covered. We rent booths to interested companies and venders for $500.00 for the day. The booth may be used to promote different products and services to the public. Once we have a representative of a certain product or service, we do not accept another with the same interest.

This is to confirm that for your payment of the $500.00 you will receive a booth of 10' x 10' including an 8' table and 2 chairs. You will be mentioned in the magazine published for the event, listed as a participant on our Web Page and the Master of Ceremonies will mention you throughout the day. Should you decide to participate, you not only will have the opportunity to present your message and promote your business to our visitors, but you will also be helping underprivileged athletes to have an opportunity to compete in a major international event.Remember that the next running of the Los Angeles Marathon will be March 2, 2008. OUR CELEBRATING PLACE WILL BE, at 23rd Street and Figueroa.
